Germaine (“Troy”) began fellowshipping with Refuge Temple in 2004 while attending college. He has served in numerous capacities and in 2012, began serving in preaching ministry. After being appointed and serving as assistant pastor, Germaine was appointed as interim senior pastor in February 2023 and installed as senior pastor in October 2023.
Germaine is an ordained minister with the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. He holds a B.S. in mechanical engineering from Clemson University and is married to Shunta (Shun-tay) Grant. They have two children, Zoe and Liam.
Elder Brooks pursued a call to the preaching ministry in 1983 while attending The Father’s House in Tacoma, Washington. He later served as assistant pastor and helped to plant a sister church in Bremerton, Washington. In 2006, Elder Brooks planted House of Faith in Bremerton, Washington, serving as senior pastor for ten years before retiring from employment and relocating to the Upstate South Carolina area. Elder Brooks currently leads Refuge Temple midweek noon day prayer service and serves the church and community with his gifting to minister to individuals personally.
Elder Brooks is an ordained minister within the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. He is a U.S. Navy veteran and is married to Robin Brooks. They have one son, Jarius
Bishop Herbert Edwards, Sr. served as the Senior Pastor of Refuge Temple Greenville from 1976 to 2022. He was ordained as a minister of the gospel at the 1976 International Holy Convocation of the Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. After his ordination, Elder Edwards was appointed and sent to pastor, what was at the time, Second New Hope in Greenville, SC. With the words, Add thou to it, ringing in his ears, Elder Edwards traveled with his wife and family from Summerville to Greenville each weekend for a period of three years.
His first radio ministry began with WBBS 1580 Travelers Rest, SC in November 1982; then SBFM Radio Seneca, SC in July 1983; and WHYZ 1070 Greenville, SC in February 1989.
With the help of God and a group called the Crusaders, Elder Edwards planted two other churches: Refuge Greenwood and Refuge Church Seneca. Elder Edwards pastored the two churches, along with Refuge Temple in Greenville, until pastors were appointed.
On December 31, 2022, after years of diligent, faithful, and sacrificial service, Bishop Edwards retired as senior pastor of Refuge Temple. We will always honor him and remember his faithfulness to the Lord!
